Phew!
It's one of those days today, where things keep getting more and more complicated...
The launch date for "the project" is now Monday, due to the fact we need to tidy up the Java Script and enable everything to run REALLY FAST.
Stick with me on this one, please? Cheers :)

Hahahaha
Here's the latest from the "I'm in UR..." meme, which ended up in the hyper-meme explosion of Lolcats/Lolbots/Lol-logos/whatever....a snazzy T-shirt which gives you the chance to update ur phrazez as the meme mutates. Enjoy!!!111ELEVEN!
And i'm guessing you'll be wanting an update on "the project" won't you? Well, beta is *this* close. If you're in my address book, expect some news very soon.
In other news, I appear to be coming down with a bit of a cold, which is very frustrating. This week is one which will need me to be as sharp as I can possibly be.
*sighs*
How about some silliness, to take away the impending chaos of launch?
Fair enough.
how about the US Supreme court cracking down on free speech?
And it's been a while since we checked out Xfm, hasn't it? Well, the latest wheeze they've come up with is "Live From Leicester Square" Well, as far as I can see, all that means is yet more networked content. Essentially, they will network the 6-7pm hour of Camfield's afternoon show on a Friday....and what will the regional audiences feel, when they're coerced into the jollities down south?

This is hugely exciting......
As I type this, I'm looking at a finished version of "the project". It looks as though we're about a day or so from launch, barring the unforeseen snags and bugs that tend to appear at this somewhat critical juncture-take it from me: I've got EVERYTHING crossed.
More news the very second I get it.
Right, time for a diversion........
I know I shouldn't really laugh at this next clip, as it's SO childish, but it's been a valuable source of humour, at a time when the whole "project" thing has been so very fraught.........

This is a little bit funny
And a little bit sad, all at the same time: Thank You For Saying Yes.
Been listening to the Sun Kil Moon CD again this morning, i'm still routinely gobsmacked by the sheer depth of songwriting it contains; despite the sonic palette being somewhat limited, despite their always being a conceptual continuity running though all of its ideas, despite the unifying sonority of Mark Kozolek's voice...it still manages to be an absolute widescreen epic. I can virtually pinpoint the second that "Duk Koo Kim" stops merely being a song and knifes you in the heart, never letting you go until the fifteen minutes are up.
*sighs*
The Project is nearing it's release, we're just going over the last few bugs and snags; it looks like it'll have to launch without absolutely everything i'd hoped it would have, but that's ok, there's always phase 2 :)

The start of another week....
Hopefully a momentous one for The Project (beta? let's hope so).
Great post from Suw about the decline and fall of Xfm, obviously I might be just a little bit close to this for a truly objective point of view, but here's my two pence worth....
What the new management appears to be trying to do is monetize the Xfm brand, in much the same way that Kiss was developed into a brand in the mid-90's. They want to break Xfm out into a bigger arena, but it will be impossible to do it with a "niche" mentality. Unfortunately, that "niche" mentality is the basis of Xfm's strong position as holding itself up as a bastion of cool, if it develops into a bigger brand, this core value of caring about the ethos behind the station will undoubtedly have to be sacrificed.
Ultimately, I could no longer stand by and not have the ability to support and represent the music I loved, I had to search for a new outlet to do just that, that's "the project".
Levity for Monday, comes in the shape of Black Bush

A little bit of a spell-checker....
*Points Down* They're actually called Radio De Outuno, sorry.
But the song is still incredible, if anything, i've become even more obsessed with it, check my last.fm page over the next few days, i'm sure it'll be making lots of appearances.
Been a while since we had any stupidity....so......
How hungry are you today?
In other news:
Looks like the fun is over :(((((((((
Today is full of musings on the viability and possibilty of blogs and forums.....
The project continues apace more details very very soon.........

What a day.....
Thanks to all of you that left kind comments on yesterday's post, it's nice to know you've made a connection with people, sometimes it's easy to forget that when it's just you and a microphone in a studio somewhere.
Yesterday continued on its merry way after the show had finished, a little lunch, some cake (thanks Marsha)and 40 winks, then off to the first of two DJ gigs, Planet Hop at the Light Bar in Shoreditch. wicked gig, played some SERIOUS tunes: "Lisa Baby" by Father MC, the new M.I.A. single, lots of Diplo remixes (the Turbulence one is incredible) and found the time to play "Drum Pan Sound" by Reggie Steppa as well, which always makes my day.
Once that was over, it was into a cab and over to the Islington Academy to DJ at the 25Th anniversary Theatre Of Hate gig....more serious tunes, this time from a different direction: "H-Eyes" by the Ruts (with the crowd singing along!) "Future Daze" by Penetration, "Fatman" by Southern Death Cult and "Emergency" by 999...
TOH were on top form, they played a blistering version of "Nero" that stopped me in my tracks, the years just fell away as I remembered taping it off the Peel show in my bedroom in Wiltshire as a 14 year-old kid....
And today? Well, I'm in a secret London bunker location, working on "The Project" (see below) It's sounding great, looking great, and it's a beautiful day in London Town (from what limited view I have of the sky)
Change is in the air.
