Sevens.

How time flies, and changes. I'm sitting in bed, playing sevens. Sevens was perhaps THE card game of my youth, always played with my family. Divide the cards between four, seven of diamonds leads, then you go up and down from the seven cards of each suit, depending what you have in your hand. The aim is to stifle your opponents- hang on to the card that will allow them to play. It's simple, devious and a lot of fun. Now, I'm playing it on an app, and blogging about it via my ipad. Then, we wre huddled around the piano stool, laying cards onto the velvet lid.

This is how I feel today.....

A little bit of FAIL, and a sore head. Mind you, the Sun has been helping, as has the DS. I'm playing the new version of Broken Sword, and it's aces.
Need to start thinking about food for tonight - what shall I eat? I'm toying with making Macaroni Cheese; that's serious comfort food, isn't it? With nice chunks of Pancetta in there, OM NOM NOM.

I'm not normally swayed by advertising...

But I ended up buying The Times and The Sunday Times this weekend, purely to get the free CD-Roms of Monopoly and Scrabble that were attached to the front. Monopoly, particularly, is utterly fantastic, and the experience of playing versus the computer means you can rattle through the game nice and quick (no more of those interminable games I played as a kid- which always ended up in huge arguments) . I'm starting to formulate a strategy to win the game; it's fairly simple, viz:
1) Buy EVERYTHING
2) Get all the railways
3) Get the Orange set
4) Sod Park Lane and Mayfair
5) Likewise, Old Kent Road

Multiplayer game fun.......

How about playing Asteroids with THOUSANDS of people?
While we're on the subject of games, but delving back into more analogue forms of entertainment, i've been delving back into my Pinball obsession recently.

This is the closest to my own Pinball machine that i've found online, it's even a Gottlieb! According to this, (Bowling Queen, July 1964) there were 2650 made, I wonder how many can have survived these four decades?

I used to do it all the time.....

....when I was on Xfm (R.I.P.), but here's some time wasting Friday web fun :)
It's been another busy week, but it's been great. We're on to our fifth playlist at Shadowglobe, and we're finally starting to see the undiscovered music we always knew was out ther coming through.....
It's been somewhat hectic marshaling all the various areas of the site, but it's been worth it.
One of the other great things about this week has been just how much FUN I've had doing my mp3 blog : it's a good stress release valve from all the madness of Web 2.0.

mmmmm, soothing.......

There's nothing like some non-linear game action to help a wet Tuesday along:
Feed the head
A strange night of dreams last night (I'm sure I've blogged about my dreams in the past) Well, as vivid as ever, really; I dreamt i was at a Ruts gig, and they were playing "Staring At The Rude Boys" REALLY LOUD.
I get on the tube this morning to come to work, what's the second or third song to pop up on the pod? you got it. Spooky.
I'm getting hungry as well, might have to go for Mexican food again, there's a great place on Berwick Street that does pork Tacos, with the meat having been cooked in coca-cola to make it extra juicy........
Oh hell, I appear to be salivating.
