At cola beach, I rose early (about 7.30) and went to swim in the freshwater lake around the headland you can see in the background of this photo. On my way back, this boat was getting ready to land and drop off its catch. The ramponkar (fisherman) had left the previous night and had been fishing all through the night. He looked exhausted and could hardly stand, let alone move the boat. So, I gave him a hand and we dragged the boat 40 feet up the sand until it rested here. If you look under the hull, you can see the wooden slats which we used to place under the boat as we gradually ease it up the beach hanging on to the outrigger on the side...
