Get on this quickly......

Techcrunch has got 10 thousand invites to Joost's beta launch.....FYI, it's web TV, 2.0 style, and it's great....lots of ads at the moment, and slightly fragmented content, but it's still one of those apps (download required) that'll impress your mates......

Awesome! I was wondering how I'd get an invite!

Joost looks fab, but I fear what would happen to my broadband, given we have a download cap. I called our ISP once, when we first connected, and asked what would happen if we exceeded our limit, and they said that they didn't know, but they'd tell us if there was problem. Doesn't fill me with confidence, that.

Well, it's that fragmented content that means i'm in no danger of exceeding my download limit....it's a bit like seat-back TV isn't it? When you're on a plane and you've got access to loads of channels full of great programmes, and you end up watching a bit of about two shows, drinking some booze and having a bit of a lie down.

@Suw, I *think* that with most bandwidth limited services when you exceed your cap you get limited to a kind of "fallback" limited service that basically only allows you to talk to the ISP via email so they can explain the situation.

Not that I think they'd miss the excellent opportunity to sell you an unlimited upgrade though...

@chris: mmmm, unlimited broadband. Mmmmmm! Except that most "unlimited" packages are nothing of the sort, sadly.

@iain: You get to lie down on planes? I wish!! I'll be traveling cattle class to Boston and then San Francisco next month, and I'll count myself lucky if I can still feel my toes when I get off the plane!
