Nick, this one's for you.....

Bashment meets the Surfaris (eeeeeeep!)
And for everyone else, believe it or not, the new Siobhan Donaghy (ex-Sugababes) single is one of the records of the year.....

I love this. And a quick google reveals that there's also Beenie Man pon the wipeout riddim, where next? Pipeline perhaps or maybe a Link Wray riddim. This could easily have been filed under novelty next to my "dub side of the moon" album but no - its a killer. This is pushing all the right buttons for me, like a Kevin Wignall short story. Sometimes things won't go with each other even when you desperately want them to (like Kylie and Anna Friel - or is that just me?) But here, like a black pudding and squid starter, two of my favourite things have combined perfectly. Not wanting to over analyse it but in the original the drum rolls were just filler between the guitar but on this its the other way round and most of the serious lyrics are over the drum bits. I hope you gave Lance Waveblood a copy yesterday.

You honour me, sir! Iain, loved this but couldn't download the ex-sugababe song. By the way, hope you got the mp3 of "Emily Barratt's Dead". Nick, I'll burn you a copy and send it to you.

Anna Friel..... sorry, where was I?

No he hasn't given me a copy because Murray blew us out - we're all rescheduled for Oct 4th. No doubt it'll be on his special LunchClub selection for Autumn 06.

While we're on the subject: just eye-podded two volumes of Lost Legends of Surf Guitar onto it and awaiting Amazon to deliver on an epic wait for the 3rd.

As for Lance Waveblood: creepers Nick; I'd forgotten all about that. I wonder what Roxanne Seashore is doing now...
